Bookings open for Northumberland Village Halls Week event
31st Jan 2025
19th March 9.30am-1pm (includes lunch)
Stannington Village Hall
Village Halls Week returns in 2025 and this year the focus will be on celebrating, encouraging and supporting volunteers.
This event is a chance to showcase the contribution Northumberland's 160+ village halls make to rural communities.
We will highlight the many different ways volunteers have supported their village halls, sharing tips and advice for others to learn from.
The event is taking place during Village Halls Week, a national celebration of halls organised by ACRE Action with Communities in Rural England which runs this year from 17th -24th March.
CAN is organising this celebration event for trustees and volunteers in Northumberland's Village Halls. Please note we can only allocate 2 places per village hall to ensure as many halls as possible can attend.
Speakers and Presentations include:
- Andy Dean – CEO, CAN
- Robin Fry – Inclusive Economy Advisor, North East Combined Authority
- Alan Gerono – Volunteering Lead, CAN
- Marc Johnson - Digital Inclusion Lead, CAN
- Panel of volunteer representatives from Village Halls - 'Volunteering in my Community'
We will also be exhibiting picture boards from our Village Hall Heritage project, along with books for sale. There will be information stalls staffed by CAN's Energy Team and Volunteer Lead, with time to view this during the event and afterwards.
