CAN recruiting Project Manager – Solar-Powered Community Buildings Project

Do you want to lead our project to put solar panels and associated battery storage into community buildings across Northumberland?

After over two years of feasibility work, Northumberland Community Energy Ltd (NCEL) was formed as a co-operative and a Community Benefit Society in September 2023.

NCEL exists to support its members (the community buildings themselves) to reduce carbon emissions, lower energy costs and increase resilience.

Supported by CAN, the Rural Design Centre and the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE), NCEL has secured significant funds to start work towards its target of achieving 100 solar/battery installations across the county over the next five years – the first installations will be in place by the summer.

Employed by CAN on behalf of NCEL, we are looking for a Project Manager to work with Northumberland community buildings, the NCEL board and our partners to develop, deliver and manage the project.
