Getabout Access Scheme seeks volunteers

Getabout Access Scheme seeks volunteers The Getabout Access Scheme is Currently seeking volunteer drivers to provide a service to people who might not otherwise be able to get out of their homes are able to undertake essential journeys including shopping trips, GP and hospital appointments and visits to relatives in hospital. Volunteers are asked to use their own cars to transport clients, and to undergo a DBS check. Full training is given and expenses are paid at a rate of 45p per mile. We accept applications from across the county and currently have an urgent need for more volunteers in North Northumberland. Last chance to apply for a free central heating system. Offer ends 31st October 2016

Earlier this year we reported that Warm up North had been awarded government funding from the Department of Energy and Climate Change to install FREE central heating systems into qualifying properties. The fund closed for applications briefly in the middle of the year but has now reopened and qualifying households have until 31st October to apply. Hundreds of properties in Northumberland have already received a free installation, we don’t want to miss out as offers like this don’t come around often. — Read more.
