CAN welcomes new starter Fiona Knox

We're delighted to welcome Fiona Knox to the CAN staff team. She joins us as the new Northumberland Community Energy (NCEL) project officer, working to support the installation of solar panels with batteries in community buildings across Northumberland to build reliance within communities.

Fiona has lived in Northumberland for the last 30 years in Allenheads, Haydon Bridge and now Hexham.

Fiona tells us about her background and what she's looking forward to in the new role:

"Through previous work with Northumberland National Park and latterly North Pennines National Landscape, I have been fortunate enough to have worked across the county with schools, community groups and partners.

"Previously I have worked with schools and Universities introducing them to elements of Northumberland National park and the North Pennines. I have loved supporting communities learn more and make a difference for wildlife, local history, archaeology, growing together and their local walking and cycling routes.

"Northumberland is a beautifully rich landscape with unique communities and I am so looking forward to meeting folk and helping to make things happen for the communities and their community buildings."
