CAN recruiting Off-Grid Energy Advisers

Community Action Northumberland (CAN) is excited to be recruiting Off-Grid Energy Advisers as part of our newly funded Powering People project.

Thanks to a two-year grant from the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme, we’ll be working to support households in Northumberland that are not connected to the electricity grid. An estimated 350+ households across the county are living off the electricity grid—many facing unique challenges in managing energy costs and making the transition to low-carbon alternatives.

With the backing of the Northumberland Off-Grid Task Force and a range of partner organisations, our project aims to reduce fuel poverty and support off-grid households in moving from fossil fuels to cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions.

This work will include:

  • Conducting household energy audits and providing personalised advice
  • Supporting grid connections and renewable energy installations
  • Facilitating local and community energy solutions
  • Contributing to policy development and knowledge-sharing across the sector

We’re recruiting for 1.5 full-time equivalent roles and welcome applications for both full-time and part-time positions. The full-time equivalent salary is £33,366.

If you’re passionate about sustainable energy, reducing fuel poverty, and making a tangible difference in people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you.
