Vince Walsh Champions Rural Housing at National Conference

At last week's national conference hosted by English Rural and Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE), our very own Vince Walsh, Rural Housing Enabler at CAN, presented on the urgent challenge of affordable housing in rural communities.

Speaking alongside other experts, Vince shared insights from Northumberland, emphasising the unique concerns faced by rural areas in providing accessible housing. He highlighted the importance of community-led initiatives and the need for collaborative approaches to address housing shortages.

The conference also featured a keynote address by HRH The Princess Royal, who underscored the importance of vibrant countryside communities — not just for those who live there, but for the country as a whole. She praised the work of Rural Housing Enablers and the partnerships that have brought homes, opportunity and dignity to families across rural England.
