  • Rural Food Kitchen pilot a success

    A short film has been produced to showcase our Rural Food Kitchen project as the pilot phase draws to an end. Built around volunteers from our existing Warm Hubs, CAN have been supporting these groups through a project providing essential equipment for older people, including kitchen aids such as perching stools, electric tin openers, tremor cutlery and much more. — Read more.

  • Guest blog An inspiring visit to Northumberland Archives

    A recent visit to the Northumberland Archives by a volunteer on our Village Halls Heritage Project has inspired them to write a blog about their visit. Alison Cowen, a volunteer from Jubilee Hall in Newton on the Moor, visited the Woodhorn site to find out about using the archives to help research the heritage of her village hall.   • Celebrating 100 years of village halls

    Village Halls Week 2021 will recognise the contribution England’s 10,000+ halls have made to rural communities since the 1920s. The national campaign week - now in its 4th year – is set to take place 25 to 29 January and will feature online events, videos, podcasts, and blogs showcasing the history of village halls and the benefits they have derived for rural communities over the years. — Read more.
