CAN Employment hubs join Solid Foundations
26th Jul 2023
CAN has become a partner of a newly launched Employability Programme for Northumberland called Solid Foundations, following on from the recently ended Bridge Northumberland scheme.
The Solid Foundations programme will provide one-to-one support to help economically inactive people in Northumberland overcome barriers to work, such as lack of basic skills or health problems.
CAN is providing support through our successful Rural Employment Hubs scheme in six locations, available on a drop-in basis. We provide access to the internet to carry out job search activities, one-to-one support with IT skills, planning job-seeking activities, and addressing any underlying health and social welfare issues that may limit their ability to seek work.
Solid Foundations is delivered by a not for profit partnership of six voluntary community organisations and is in partnership with, and funded by, North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA).
The partners are:
- Blyth Initiative and Resource Centre
- Citizens Advice Northumberland
- Community Action Northumberland
- Cygnus
- Northern Learning Trust
- Northumberland Community Voluntary Action
