Free fire safety and wellbeing visits for rural homes
Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service provides free safe and wellbeing visits and smoke alarms to people who live in the county.

Fire Safety in the home video
The local Fire Safety team has put together a home fire safety video with tips on electrical safety and smoke alarms.
Self help emergency first aid for rural communities
This video was made for people living in rural areas to be able to administer self-help first aid. Emergency medical help can take longer to arrive in remote areas, so being aware of these basic self-help measures are vital skills to learn. Our thanks to the funders Big Night In and Northumberland Estates for supporting this video.

This online training video by Christine Nicholls at CAN explains the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, how to watch out for the signs, what to do to detect and prevent it.

Gentle Yoga Sessions
We created some gentle online yoga sessions delivered by Tracey Mortimer from Tru Yoga on behalf of CAN to share with older people who may be isolated during lockdown to encourage exercising. They include a chair-based session, standing yoga, and a relaxing yoga session.
