Operating Schedule-Suggested Text - samples for illustrative purposes only. Committees should only draw on those parts applicable to their hall.
Model application This is based on a real life copy of a successful application made in the county of Wiltshire. CAN is grateful to the hall allowing it to be used and has changed the names, addresses, telephone numbers etc. to protect the identity of the hall. The model applicant has requested permission to carry out most forms of regulated entertainment and for a licence to sell alcohol on the premises. Most halls in Northumberland have indicated that they will operate on TENs (Temporary Event Notices) for events that include the sale of alcohol and have therefore not needed to complete the sections applying for licence to sell alcohol. The Model should not be slavishly copied but used as a guide to the sort of information that will be required on their application.
Hall management committees are encouraged to look at www.culture.gov.uk (The website of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Go to the section on alcohol and entertainment where you can access copies of the guidance issued to local authorities, copies of the various application forms and newsletters charting the progress of the Act since August 2004 and a useful Jargon Buster.)
