What is a Parish Plan?
Parish Plans are local, action-based plans which address a range of problems and opportunities affecting rural communities. They set out a shared vision for how the community wants to develop. The parish plan gives a voice to all members of the community to allow them to have their say on social, environmental and economic issues within their community. It is up to the community to decide what the most important issues in their own parish are. . . . . . .
Commnity Action Northumberland support communities in the production of a Parish Plan.
Grants are available towards the costs incurred by communities in the compiling of their report.
Our Community Development Officers in Alnwick, Berwick, Castle Morpeth and Tynedale can provide advice and support and point you in the direction of others who can help.
To help communities to understand "What is a Parish Plan" and "How to get Started" Community Action have produced a useful information sheet "A Guide for Parish Planning". To download a copy click here.
