FUNDING
Probably the most frequent type of enquiry received by staff within Community Action is:
"Where can I get some funding - - ?"
There is no simple answer. It depends upon what the money is needed for and by whom:
* Is the enquiry on behalf of an individual, or a community group?
* Is the group properly constituted?
* Does it have its own bank account?
* Can the group demonstrate a need for the project that requires funding?
* Where is the group located?
* Does the group provide a service for/to disadvantaged persons?
......... and so the scenario continues.
Community Action employ a number of staff (Community Development Officers) who can give support, advice and assistance to groups in many different ways (including funding advice). Staff at CAN will be working to produce some written guidance, for publication on this page, on how to approach funding applications. In the meantime, you can check out the Funding Information sheets on this website or approach your local Community Development Officer if you need to talk.
