David Brettell - Leader +

David is employed by CAN on a consultancy basis to manage the activities of LEADER+ until its closure in December 2008.


He tells us that, "The two threads running through my working life are: "working with and motivating people" and "achieving results".  At the start of my working life this was achieved during ten years service as a police officer in London.  In the last eleven years, since moving to Northumberland, they have been woven into my work with Development Trusts and community partnerships, and expressd through community capacity building, establishing partnership structures, business planning, project development,and effective and efficient project delivery.

I would also like to think that I provide honest realism and professionalism with a sense of humour. 

In addition to the role as Manager of the LEADER+ programme, I am a mentor for the Development Trust Association's Enterprise Accelerator Programme and Adventure Capital Fund."
